Championships

The season concludes with the Championship meet.  Age champions are awarded in each age group and gender from 7 years and under, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16-20 years and adults (21 and over). 

This season Club Championships will be conducted on Saturday the 20^th March, 2010

All nominations must be lodged by 12^th March, 2010.

Swimmers compete against their own age group and gender and age is determined by year of birth.  Distances vary for each age.

Junior swimmers (7 & under, 8 & 9)                        25m all strokes.

Intermediate swimmers (10 years)                          25m Backstroke; Breaststroke; Butterfly,

50m Freestyle & 100 IM.

Intermediate swimmers (11, 12 years)                  50m all strokes & 100 IM.

Senior swimmers     (13, 14, 15, 16-20 years)     50m all strokes & 100 IM.

Adult swimmers        (21 years plus)                      50m all strokes & 100 IM.

To qualify to swim a particular stroke/event at the Championships, swimmers must have competed in that stroke, at any distance, on at least seven (7) Club nights (adults 5) between 9^th October, 2009 and 12^th March, 2010 inclusive. 

To qualify to swim the 100 IM at the Championships, swimmers must have swum in at least five (5) long distance events including a minimum of three (3) Individual Medley events over the season.
